Chase...
Today for Principle of Cooking practical, we got to debone the square cut of the shoulder of the lamb. It was pretty fine and was glad that I didn't cut meself Other than that...all was fine but I had to chase after my classmate to return my book or how am I to study for my upcoming test? I lent my book on Monday to let him take down the notes and answers to the blanks. I wanted it back on Tuesday but he didn't want because for practical we are in different kitchen so very well, I told him to bring it on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, he didn't bring it but said he had completed copying the answers. (During IT class I was telling my classmate, Elizabeth that if he didn't bring it on the following day, I was so going to screw him as in throttle him and probably bash him) I let it pass so that was the first chance I gave him and told him that I would like to have it the next day which was Thursday (yesterday). Besides we would be in the same kitchen on that day because my teach decided to take in both classes on that day.
Thursday...he didn't bring it! Oh my goodness...fine, I wasn't really that piss so I let it go and told him to bring it the next day which was Friday (today). Well...after I had finished my class, I went over to the kitchen where he was working in and asked him whether he had brought my book. SCREW HIM! He said he was late for class and didn't bring the book...This is the third chance I'd given him. Two chances are more than enough and I know some people(Tieme) don't even give any chances to anyone at all. I was really pissed but I didn't shout at him or anything. I told him this, 'I want you to bring it down and meet me somewhere and pass it to me today.' He said, 'No...' because he lives pretty far...from Orchard Road. He said he would bring it on Monday but I think it would be too rush and he said that I could do whatever I want to him on Monday if he didn't bring it.
Look! He stays in Telok Blangah and I used to study in St Theresa's Convent (Secondary School) and it is located in Telok Blangah and it isn't far away from Orchard or even Tiong Bahru but the short guy said it is far for him. Yes, he is VERY short...about my height and look like 12 or 13 years old when he is actually 17. My other classmate, Wayne told me that I should smack his head (Wayne demonstrated on me and flicked his finger on the side of my head and I told him that isn't how I would do it. Yeah, I would smack the back of the head and I demonstrated on Wayne. I smacked Wayne's head and he said it was hard and should do that to the short guy). Alright the short guy's name is Calvin. Anyway, I'm not used to using the F word so I didn't use any bad words on him. Though I did tell Wayne something like this, 'That bastard didn't bring my book again!' Words I use are 'Bastard', 'Bitches', 'Jerks', 'Idiot' but never the F. I believe that settling problems shouldn't use any physical or shouting because it gives a rather unprofessional way of handling problems and somehow the pride is gone.
I tried to compromise with him. I actually wanted to meet him at Orchard but I gave way to him and let him choose where to meet. Wayne said, no...Calvin was the one who didn't bring the book, why should I be the one letting him to decide? I told Wayne that my main purpose was to get my book back and make it easy for Calvin. I would like to go hard on people and my mind and heart do tell me to do so but when it really comes to doing it. I go all soft and give way...hehehe Wayne said, I'm too nice
Had lunch with Wayne and Elizabeth. Calvin called and told me to meet him at Bukit Merah Bus Interchange. Pretty fine with me so I agreed and he told me not to dillydally. Agreed to meet at 2:15PM. I was going to be late and he called me again to check where I was. That time I was already onboard the train and told him to meet at 2:30PM. When I was at the interchange, it was roughly 2:35PM and I was just 5 minutes late. He called and asked whether I could meet him at McDonald's...I couldn't take it. I was not going to be too nice to let him decide everything plus I wasn't going to walk all the way there just to get my book and walk all the way back to the interchange. I mean after school, I could easily have my lunch and headed home and rest but after lunch; I went to meet him and then I ended up waiting for him at the interchange. I told him that I wasn't going to walk so he said fine and thus I waited and then he came and handed the book to me.
Seriously, I have learnt my lesson not to lend him anything anymore. Beginning I was reluctant to lend it to him because somehow I knew I won't get it back on the day I had required him to do so. Well, on second thought; maybe he may seemed that way but maybe he wasn't that kind. It seemed like I was wrong on that second thought. I don't mind lending things to people but I don't seem to get them back unless I chase these people. In the kitchen I work in, so far I was given two kitchen towels and I lent one and didn't get it back. I lent another to some other people...coz the plate was hot (I work near where the salammander was located, in fact it is just behind where I work so they needed the cloth to carry the plate, they're too lazy to walk all the way to their table to get theirs) so they used my 2nd towel and I didn't get it back. From two towels to zero!
I don't want to be selfish or anything. I don't want to be seen as some bitch who enjoys hunting people down to get my things back. I just want people to be responsible when they borrow something from someone.
Had dinner at Pete's Place which is an Italian Restaurant located in Hyatt Hotel. I had Fettucinne with veal meat and asparagus. It was EXCELLENT! Mom had sea bass but she didn't like it coz it was too salty. For dessert, we had chocolate fondue...it was FANTASTICA!
Take care!
Veel plezier.
