Day 3 in MEL: To the Beach and Flames
Well, this is what I’d done today…I slept about 4 plus in the morning and then I woke about 9 plus to have my shower. For breakfast was just a slice of whole meal wheat bread with a slice of cheese.
We sat in a train to head towards Camberwell where there was a flea market. Wow, in the train I saw many buildings had been vandalized by graffiti. It was alright, the whole car park was having it till 1PM. Sis bought some clothes but I didn’t get anything coz I didn’t fancy much of the stuffs there. The things there were nice to see but nothing much which I would like to get. Next, we sat on the train and headed back to the city where we’d stopped at Flinders Street Station and took the tram down to St Kilda’s beach. Wow…lotz of shops and food…many varieties and the pastry cake shops were all classic sort. They displayed their wonderful beautiful cakes…yum yum. Before we popped into one of the cake shops, we went to a fish shop, they had displayed all the seafood stuff, we had the Fisherman’s Basket which sis and I shared. We had it as take away where we could sit at the grassy patch watching the sea. It was nice, we were surrounded by seagulls and I did take some pictures of them. There was one injured seagull as he only had one leg.
After that, we walked back to the shops and we went to ‘Le Bon Cake Shop’ where sis and I sat in a corner. We shared a slice of mango cheesecake, it was alright; I guess I was pretty full thatz why I didn’t really fancy it. I had iced strawberry...it was SO sweet but sis had cappuccino.
We headed back to the city by tram. Well, we stopped at the City Bath and walked back to the apartment. While she was on her com, I slept…for roughly 2 hours until sis got out from the shower then I started to shower. Had dinner, sis cooked again…we had the same as yesterday’s dinner. Anyway, she said tomorrow we’re going to have pasta and she said that it is my turn to cook for her.
Today, I managed to catch the 11PM fire display. Well, you must be wondering what it is about. They have these tall structure things along the walk way of Crown Hotel and at 9, 10 and 11PM they would be on display for certain time. At first the flames were small and then it got bigger and bigger. Wow, when it got bigger, I could feel the heat hitting onto my cheeks even when the flames were up high. My cheeks were feeling chilly coz of the cold air, it is 7 C tonight.
We waited long for the tram to return to the City Bath and it was FREAKING cold. Sis couldn’t take it…I was just trying to withstand it. Oddly, I don’t really see cats on the streets here…and funny to see birds (seagull) at night coz in SG, we do see cats around especially flats area and we don’t see birds at night. Sis doesn’t really like here because life isn’t smooth sailing for her, every week she has problems cropping up and the transportation here sucks a lot because we have to wait a long long time before it arrived or at times, the train would be cancelled or stopped halfway of the tracks and told everyone to board off when it actually hadn’t finished its route. That was what she had told me.
Each day I had a little disruption of me plan…first day, it was the City Circle Tram which didn’t complete its route and told everyone to board-off. It was the last tram…and it was free for visitors but the locals could take it too. Well, yesterday it was the fire display whereby we couldn’t sit outside to view. Today, the train we waited for was cancelled and thus we got to wait for the next one to arrive. Hopefully no more disruptions lol…well, they’re mini ones so no harm done : )
Well, I don’t have any plans tomorrow but sis won’t be hanging out with me because she’ll be really busy, she has to meet her classmates at 1 and the teach at 4PM so pretty much, I could be online or out walking about and snapping pics and probably shopping. I’ll see about it :D
